Florence Louisa Isteed/Istead was born about 1863 in New Zealand – the daughter of James Isteed and Elizabeth White. (See 100 Elizabeth Istead)
When she signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Tapanui, South Otago.
She married Harry Day Dawson in 1894 and they had two sons.
The family lived in Featherston in the Waiarapa, Woodlands and Ryal Bush in Southland ending their days in Invercargill where Harry was a storekeeper.
Harry died in 1942 and Florence died on 11 November 1952. They are buried together in the Invercargill Eastern Cemetery.
