Louisa Sankey was born in 1842 in Manchester, Lancashire, England — the daughter of Charles Sankey and Marion Zuill.
She emigrated to Otago in 1879 on the Wellington with her widowed mother and extended family.
When she signed the suffrage petition Louisa was living in Ravensbourne, West Harbour, Dunedin with her brother Samuel.
Louisa’s mother died in 1903 and sometime after Louisa travelled to Victoria, Australia where other family members were living.
She married John Pinniger, a widower, in 1910.
John died in 1917 and Louisa died in July 1937. They are buried with Louisa’s brother Samuel in the Coburg Pine Ridge Cemetery, Victoria.
