Lucy Riley Adam was born about 1854.
She married Samuel Farquhar Grant, a carter, on 5 August 1874 in the East Taieri parish and they had five children.
When Lucy signed the suffrage petition the family were living at Jacobstown in Gore.
Samuel died in 1908 and Lucy died at her home on 28 February 1911 – they are buried together in the Gore Cemetery.
