Biographical information provided by Briar Barry for the He Tohu exhibition:

A mother and daughter who signed the Petition together. Both were named Mary Ann. Mary Ann Senior passed away in 1914 and is buried at Sydenham, Christchurch while Mary Ann Junior moved to Warkworth where she lived as a spinster until her death in 1930.
