Mary Park was born about 1860 in Ayrshire, Scotland, she arrived in New Zealand in about 1887.

In 1891 she married James Richard Bone, they had no children.

Mary and James lived in Hanover St, Dunedin for several years before moving to St Clair then to Gresham St, Andersons Bay where Mary died on 4 October 1940.

James died in 1947, they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
