Biographical information provided by Briar Barry for the He Tohu exhibition:

Thhis entry has been transcribed as M.C. Hopkins but it appears to be M.A. Hopkins. If so this would have been Mary Ann Hopkins. She was married to Edwards Hopkins, a storekeeper in Greymouth.

In 1930 Mary Ann donated a section of land to the Greymouth Borough Council, which became Hopkins Park.

Mary Ann died on 21 July 1941 and is buried in Greymouth with her husband.
