Margaret Douglas Flint was born in 1866 in Queenstown – the daughter of James Flint, a farmer, and Mary Douglas.
After her father’s death in 1884 Margaret moved to Dunedin with her mother and when she signed the suffrage petition she was living in Castle Street working as a tailoress.
She married William Charles Reed on 16 May 1906 at Waihi, Auckland.
Margaret died on 19 October 1921 – she is buried in the Waikumete Cemetery.
