Maria Robinson was born about 1834.
She married James Daniels, a carter, on 24 March 1857 in Adelaide, Australia. They had two children before they sailed for Otago about 1862.
They settled in the Tokomairiro district and they had a further seven children, one who died in infancy.
When Maria signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Milton.
They celebrated their Golden Wedding in 1907 before James died in 1909.
Maria remained in Milton, she died at her home on 27 March 1927 and is buried with James in the family grave in the Fairfax Cemetery, Milton.
