Mary Fife Geggie was born in 1857 in New Zealand – the daughter of John Geggie and Ann Mary Petrie. (See 106 A Geggie)

She married William Morton, a farmer, at her home 'Mount Belleview' in the Warepa district on 12 June 1884.

They had no children and when Mary signed the suffrage petition they were farming at Puerua.

They later retired to Balclutha where William died in 1927.

Mary died on 26 July 1946 in Dunedin, they are buried in the Balclutha Cemetery.
