Mary Henrietta Kingston was born in 1868 in New Zealand – the daughter of George Lewis Kingston, a sailmaker, and Catherine Meloy. (See 29 Mrs Kingston)
Henrietta worked as a pupil teacher in the 1880s and when she signed the suffrage petition she was living in Melville St, Dunedin.
She married James Johnston Hay, a civil engineer, on 28 December 1893 in Wellington.
They had no children and Henrietta died on 28 October 1906 at Woodside Private Hospital, Auckland.
She is buried in the Northern Cemetery, Dunedin.
James died in Melbourne, Australia in 1937, he is buried in the Box Hill Cemetery, Victoria.
