Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Mary Ann McGrath was born about 1865.

She was probably the daughter of Michael and Sarah McGrath. (See 34 S McGrath)

Mary married Charles John Francis Hannagan, a railway shunter, in 1890 and they had five children.

When Mary signed the suffrage petition in Regent Street they were living in, nearby, Bradshaw Street in South  Dunedin.

Mary died at her home on 14 July 1923 – she is buried in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.

Charles died in 1936 - he is buried in the Northern Cemetery.
