Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Mary McDonald was born about 1845. She married William Henry Henney, a builder, in New Zealand in 1862.

They had four children and lived in Russell St, Dunedin.

William was declared bankrupt in 1865 and again in 1880 but continued to work at his trade.

William died in 1894. After his death Mary ran a boarding house at her home.

She died suddenly on 11 February 1902, collapsing outside her house from a heart attack.

She is buried with William in the Northern Cemetery, Dunedin.
