Mary Ann/Dolly Jeffs was born in 1869 in New Zealand – the daughter of Henry Jeffs and Mary Ann Lewis. (See 45 M A Jeffs)
When Mary signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family on the corner of Frederick and Cumberland Streets in Dunedin where they ran a general goods shop – Mary was working as a dressmaker.
She married Gordon Robertson, the chief steward for the U.S.S .Co, on 17 January 1894 in Dunedin – they had no children.
Mary died on 31 August 1900 in Dunedin, she is buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
Gordon’s life after this is unclear.
