Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Marion/Minnie Logan was born in New Zealand in 1867 – the daughter of James Kennedy Logan, the inspector of telegraphs, and Katherine Malcolm Dewar (See 98 K K Logan)

When Marion signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Cannongate, Dunedin.

In July 1896, when the family had moved to Wellington, Minnie became engaged to John Sime Neave, a banker.

It is not known when or where they married but, in 1902, it was reported in the paper that John had become the secretary to the Chamber of Commerce in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

Also in 1902 it was reported that Minnie had come for a holiday with her two daughters aged one and three to 'spend a long holiday with her parents in Wellington, to recruit her health'.

Marion and John were to have five children.

John died in May 1953 and Marion died on 10 June the same year, they are buried together in the St John the Baptist Church Cemetery, Walmer, Eastern Cape, South Africa.
