Mary Ann Stevenson was born about 1859.

She married saddler James Moir on 20 January 1886 at South Dunedin.

They had five children and when Mary signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Serpentine Ave, Dunedin.

Mary died on 24 August 1929 and James died in 1937 – they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
