Mary Murray was born in 1870 in New Zealand – the daughter of James Murray, a farmer, and Agnes McKay. (See 88 A Murray)
When Mary signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family at Nugget Bay.
She married William McDowall Carrick, a farmer, on 28 May 1896 in Dunedin and they had a daughter in 1901.
William died at their home at Port Molyneux in 1923 and Mary died at her sister’s home in Dunedin on 1 December 1930.
They are buried together in the Port Molyneux Cemetery.
