Mary Inglis was born on 16 December 1853 in Berwickshire, Scotland – the daughter of James Inglis and Ann Skeldon. (See 118 A Inglis)
She emigrated to Otago in 1860 on the Robert Henderson with her family and they settled near Milton.
Mary married William Paul, a farmer, on 28 May 1875 and they lived at Helensbrook, near Milton, where Mary signed the suffrage petition.
They had five children, one who died in infancy.
William died in 1914 and Mary died at her home on 6 November 1933, they are buried in the Fairfax Cemetery, Milton.
