Mary Ann Crow was born in Victoria, Australia in 1860 – the daughter on Alexander Crow, a miner and engineer, and Ann Cochrane.
She came to New Zealand with her parents as an infant and they settled in Dunedin where Mary married John Perriman, a fruiterer, on 5 January 1879.
They lived in Oamaru and had five children, one who died in infancy.
John was declared bankrupt in 1892 and the family moved to Dunedin.
When Mary signed the suffrage petition they were living in High Street.
Mary died at her home on 15 October 1917 and John died in 1920 – they are buried in the family grave in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
