Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley
Mary Snow Walker was born in 1869 in New Zealand – the daughter of John Snow Walker, a carpenter, and Jean McDowall.
When she signed the suffrage petition Mary was living with her widowed father in Outram, West Taieri.
She married William Houston, a farmer, on 14 March 1894 in Dunedin.
They do not appear to have had any children & they lived in Taranaki before moving to Auckland where William worked as a grocer.
