This entry is either for Mary Ann Hughan or her daughter Mary Ann Stewart.
Mary Ann Hughan was born about 1834 in Creetown, Scotland, she married James Stewart, a Master Mariner, in New Zealand in 1858.
Shortly after their marriage Mary Ann sailed for Scotland on her husband’s ship. While in Scotland she gave birth to a daughter (See 175 R K Wright) then sailed back to Otago on the Dunedin in 1859. They had at least 7 other children in Dunedin & the family lived in Manor Place.
James died in 1911 & Mary Ann died on 16 August 1915.
Mary Ann Stewart was born in New Zealand in 1860, she did not marry.
She died on 27 June 1951 in Dunedin.
They are all buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
