Mary Ann Hendry was born about 1856.
She married Peter Hendry, a tinsmith, on December 31st 1880 in Oamaru.
They had two children, and when Mary signed the suffrage petition they were living in Palmerston.
In the mid 1900s they moved to Oamaru, then to Christchurch where Peter died in 1925.
Mary died on January 8th 1935 at her son’s home in Christchurch. She is buried with Peter in the Bromley Cemetery.
