Maggie/Margaret McLeod was born on 6 April 1869 – the daughter of Neil McLeod, a blacksmith, and Beatrice Robson. (See 132 Mrs N McLeod

She emigrated to New Zealand with her family in 1879 on the Marlborough and when Margaret signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Mataura working as a dressmaker. 

She married Thomas Pryde in 1897 and they had five children. 

Thomas died in Christchurch in 1944 – he is buried in the Ruru Lawn Cemetery. 

Margaret died in Invercargill on 5 July 1947 – she is buried in the Invercargill Eastern Cemetery.
