Margaret Cameron was born on November 19th 1838 in Morayshire, Scotland, the daughter of Kenneth Cameron and Margaret McLeod.
She emigrated to New Zealand, then married Donald Campbell on February 15th 1865 at Waikouaiti, north of Dunedin.
They had eight children, and when Margaret signed the suffrage petition they were living in Waikouaiti.
Donald died at their home in 1909, and Margaret died at her daughter’s home at Gimmerburn on October 13th 1927. They are buried in the Waikouaiti Cemetery.
