Margaret Catherine Falconer was born in New Zealand in 1862 – the daughter of Charles Falconer, a farmer, and Janet Rattray.
When she signed the suffrage petition she was living with her father and siblings on the family farm 'Glenkilrie' near Milton in South Otago.
Margaret married Samuel James Strain Hagen, a farmer, in 1904, they had no children.
Samuel died in 1924 and Margaret died on 2 October 1932, they are buried in the Fairfax Cemetery, Milton.
