Biographical information provided by Fiona Oliver for the He Tohu exhibition:
Margaret Hebden lived in Palmerston North for much of her life. She married twice and had three sons and two daughters. Two of her sons moved to Melbourne; both her daughters remained unmarried and lived in Palmerston North until their mother’s death. One of Maggie's daughters, either Queenie or Dolly, signed the Petition as Miss Hebden. Maggie died in 1916 after a long illness, aged 57.
