She sailed for Scotland with her family about 1877 but by 1880 the family was in Queensland, Australia.

They had returned to New Zealand by 1883 and when Maggie signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Russell St, South Dunedin – now known as Fox St.

In the 1896 electoral roll Maggie was living at the family home and her occupation is given as Salvation Army Officer.

She married Richard Greenslade Moore, a blacksmith, on 22 April  1903 at the Methodist Church, Menzies, Western Australia.

They had six children and lived in Kalgoorlie, WA.

Margaret died in January 1952 and is buried in the Kalgoorlie Cemetery.
