Maggie McMurray

Margaret Liddell McMurray was born on 28 June 1871 in Glasgow, Scotland, daughter of Alexander McMurray, a brassmoulder and Mary Ann Wilkie.

In 1875 Margaret, along with her parents and siblings, arrived in Dunedin on the Aldergrove. Another five children were born in New Zealand.

In 1893 Margaret married Alexander Mackie, a railway fireman. They had five children and, in 1908, the family moved to Napier then later to Wanganui.

Alexandra died in Wanganui in 1924 and Margaret died on 25 March 1952. They are buried in the Karori Cemetery, Wellington.
