Margaret Arnott Taylor was born in 1874 in New Zealand – the daughter of James Taylor and Catherine Hay. (See 58 Catherine Taylor)
When she signed the suffrage petition Margaret was living with her parents in Duncan St, Dunedin.
She married Alexander Beath, a farmer, on 9 November 1905 at her family home, they had no children.
Margaret and Alexander farmed at 'Chatton' near Mataura, moving to Dunedin when they retired.
Margaret died on 30 October 1940, Alexander re-married in 1942 and he died in 1957.
They are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
