Margaret Ellen Hall France was born in 1871 in the Tokomairiro district – the daughter of John France, a farmer, and Margaret Erskine. (See 80 Margaret France)
When Margaret signed the suffrage petition she was living with her widowed mother at 'Brucefield', near Milton.
She did not marry and she died on 30 August 1945 at her home in Dunedin, she is buried in the family grave in the Fairfax Cemetery, Milton.
