Margaret was born about 1836 in Manchester, England.
She emigrated to New Zealand in the mid 1870’s and she lived in Purakanui, north of Dunedin with her husband Joseph, a fisherman.
In the late 1880’s Margaret advertised “accommodation for families” at Purakanui Beach.
She died at her home on 17 January 1904 and Joseph died in 1912 – they are buried together in the Northern Cemetery, Dunedin.
