Margaret Ann Ritch Dreaver was born in 1867 in New Zealand, the daughter of Andrew Dreaver, a bootmaker, and Ann Leal.
She married George Hurndell, a printer, on June 20th 1890 at Palmerston and they had 5 children.
When Margaret signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Palmerston. They moved to Dunedin in the mid 1900s where George died in 1922.
Margaret died at her home on October 7th 1938. She is buried with George in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
