Margaret/Maggie Jane Sim Winton was born in New Zealand in 1867 – the daughter of John Winton, a commission agent, & Isabella Sim. (See 61 Isabella Winton)
When Margaret signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Rothesay, Dunedin working as a dressmaker.
She later lived, for a time, in Palmerston North.
She married Alfred Hull, a widower with one daughter and a fish dealer, in 1918.
They lived in Moeraki north of Dunedin.
Margaret died on 3 June 1944 and Alfred died in 1945. They are both buried in the Hampden Cemetery in North Otago.
