Margaret McCaughan was born about 1871 in Ireland.

She emigrated to Otago in 1874 on the Auckland with the Morison family and was possibly a granddaughter. (See 55 Mrs Morison)

When Margaret signed the suffrage petition she gave the name of Morison and was living with the family in Elm Row.

She married Robert McGlashan, a bookbinder and stationer, on 24 December 1894 in Dunedin and they had two children.

Robert died in 1940 and Margaret died on 22 December 1945, they are buried in the Morison family grave in the Northern Cemetery.
