Margaret Amanda Taylor was born about 1859 in England.

She came to New Zealand in the 1860’s  and she married clerk William Parker on 24 October 1889 in Dunedin.

They had four children, one who died in infancy, and when Margaret signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Selwn Road, North East Valley.

Margaret died on 17 December 1923 in Dunedin – she is buried in the family grave in the Northern Cemetery.

William died in Auckland in 1943 – he is buried in the Waikumete Cemetery.
