Margaret Reid/Reid was born about 1855.
She married John Fitzgerald, a miner, in 1876 in New Zealand and they had, at least, five children.
When Margaret signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Orepuki in Southland.
They later moved to nearby Te Tua where John died in 1907 and Margaret died on 1 June 1924, they are buried together in the Orepuki Cemetery.
