Margaret Park Purvis was born in 1867 in New Zealand – the daughter of Henry Purvis, a builder, and Patience Newcombe. (See 112 Patience Purvis)
Margaret signed the suffrage petition in Mosgiel shortly before she married Walter John Rogers on 14 September 1893.
Walter was a teacher – they had three children, one who died in infancy, and lived in Lower Shotover, Knapdale, Sandymount, Moeraki and Oamaru.
Walter retired in 1927 and they went to live in Queenstown.
Margaret died in Dunedin on 14 July 1930 and Walter died the following year – they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
