In 1866 she married James Barber, a farmer from Yorkshire. They had seven children: six daughters and a son, including Agnes Ada who signed the same Sheet of the Peition. Marion and James farmed 80 acres at Waihao in south Canterbury. Marion died in 1907 at the age of 68.
