She emigrated to Otago and, on 30 December 1886, at Knox Church, Dunedin Marjory married 60-year-old George Reid, a schoolmaster at Forbury School.

Marjory gave her age as 38 when she married – she was really closer to 50.

When Marjory signed the suffrage petition they were living in Macandrew Rd, South Dunedin.

George died there in 1913 and Marjory died on 1 August 1918, they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
