Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Martha Jane Geddes was born about 1864 in Ireland – the daughter of Robert Geddes, a farmer, and Mary Ann. (See 139 Mrs Geddes)

Martha did not marry and when she signed the suffrage petition she was living with her widowed mother in Maria St, Caversham, Dunedin.

She died in Dunedin on 2 June 1920 and is buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
