Martha Mary Mills was born in 1871 in New Zealand – the daughter of John Mills and Jessie Thompson.
She married James Moore, a fireman, on 14 September 1892 in Dunedin and when Martha signed the suffrage petition they were living in Henry St, Maori Hill.
They had five children.
Martha died at her home on 15 February 1925 and James died in 1942 – they are buried in the family grave in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
