Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Martha Willis was born in 1872 in Oxfordshire, England – the daughter of Enoch Willis, a gardener, and Louisa Gerring. (See 69 Louisa Willis)

She emigrated to Otago in 1874 on the Sussex with her family and they settled in Dunedin.

When Martha signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Richmond Rd, Caversham.

She married Robert Doull on 23 May 1894 in Dunedin and they had seven children, one who died in early childhood.

Martha died in Dunedin on 17 March 1955 and Robert died in 1959 – they were both cremated and their ashes were scattered.
