Mary Tibbles was born on 1 June 1851 in Launceston, Tasmania – the daughter of Joseph Tibbles and Catherine Crummer.
She married John Robert Chadwick in 1868 in Victoria – they had three children between 1879 and 1885 in New Zealand but do not appear to have had any before this.
When Mary signed the suffrage petition they were living in Duncan St, North East Valley.
Mary died at their home on 31 January 1925 and John died in 1929 – they are buried in the family grave in the Northern Cemetery.
