Mary Ann Elsom was born about 1847.
After emigrating to New Zealand, she married William Henry Hopkins on September 27th 1876 in the Palmerston parish.
They had 4 children, 2 who died in infancy. When Mary signed the suffrage petition they were living in Palmerston.
Mary died on June 28th 1919 and William died in 1953. They are buried in the Palmerston Cemetery.
