Mary Ann Hagan was born about 1825. She married Edward Bone in Victoria, Australia in 1858 and they had three children, one who died in infancy before they sailed for New Zealand in the mid-1860s.
Edward died in Riverton in 1867 and is buried in the Riverton Cemetery.
Mary remarried in 1869 to Daniel Walker, a miner, and they had two children.
When Mary signed the suffrage petition they were living in Orepuki, Southland.
Daniel died in 1895 at the Riverton Hospital and Mary died on 6 February 1904, they are buried together in the Orepuki Cemetery.
