Mary Ann Rogers was born about 1864. She married John Cleary, a produce merchant, in 1889 in New Zealand.
They had four children, and when she signed the suffrage petition Mary Ann’s family were living in Frederick St, Dunedin.
Mary Ann died on 21 September 1897 at the age of 33; John died in 1924. They are buried together in the Northern Cemetery.
