Mary Cubitt was born in 1868 in New Zealand – the daughter of Robert Cubitt, a hawker, and Mary Elizabeth Saul. (See 160 Mary Cubitt)
Mary attended Kaikorai School, Dunedin and when she signed the suffrage petition the family were living in King St, Roslyn – now Erin St.
Mary married Fred Davies Havard, a farmer, in 1897 and they had six children.
The family lived Glenomaru then Hampden where Fred died in 1935, he is buried in the Hampden Cemetery.
Mary died at her home in Green Island, Dunedin on 16 August 1943, she is buried in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
