Mary Molony was born about 1847, possibly in Ireland.
She emigrated to New Zealand where she married Patrick Fogarty in 1874.
They had three children and lived in Greymouth where Mary signed the suffrage petition.
In 1882 Patrick was badly injured from a fall of rock in a quarry – he died in 1898.
Mary died on 28 July 1914 – she is buried with Patrick in the Karoro Cemetery.
