Mary Gilchrist Henderson was born in 1862 in New Zealand – the daughter of William Henderson, a weighbridge keeper, and Annie Smith.
She married John Campbell on 3 November 1897 at her parents’ house in Duncan St, Dunedin.
John was a widower with 3 children who worked as a cooper at the City Brewery, Mary and John had 3 daughters before John died in 1903 two years after their youngest daughter was born.
Mary died on 21 September 1922, she is buried in the Southern Cemetery with John and his first wife.
