Mary McGregor was born about 1843, probably in Scotland.
She emigrated to Otago with her husband John Gray in 1863 on the Electric. They had, at least, 8 children.
The family lived in Waikouaiti for several years before moving to Palmerston where Mary signed the suffrage petition.
John died at their home in 1907 and Mary died on July 25th 1922. They are buried in the Palmerston Cemetery.
