Mary Jane Hambleton, known as Polly, was born in 1865 in New Zealand – the daughter of William Hambleton, a joiner, and Sarah Jane Sinkinson.
When Mary signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Maria St, South Dunedin.
She did not marry and she died on 19 January 1941. She is buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
